Ambitious, brilliant, a little crazy and controversial.

Elon Musk questions as much as he fascinates the tech world and beyond.

The boss of the high-end electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla, has risen to the rank of the richest man in the world thanks to the soaring shares in the stock exchange of his company, said the Bloomberg agency, which maintains a ranking of billionaires around the world.

It is thanks to the soaring shares of Tesla – of which he owns 18% – on Wall Street, that the whimsical entrepreneur of 49 years, who also runs SpaceX, his company specializing in the field of astronautics and Space Flight, is now (on paper) the richest man on the planet. He thus passes Jeff Bezos who held this title since 2017.

In this article, we are not going to trace his history and decipher his businesses ; I thought it would be more interesting to talk about the things we know the least about him.

If you want to discover little-known things about Elon Musk, then, let’s get started right now!

1.He was bullied as a kid

Elon Musk often brought up the topic of his difficult childhood. When he attended primary school in Pretoria, South Africa, Musk was not only the youngest and smallest in his class, but he was a true geek and cared much more about books than many of the school’s students. In Ashlee Vance’s 2015 book “Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX and the quest for a fantastic future,” Musk said gangs of boys sometimes tracked him down, even pushing him down a staircase to be sent to the hospital. “I was almost beaten to death,” he said in an interview.

Bullying continued until he was 15, the age when he experienced a surge of growth. He was able to free himself from his fears and learned to defend himself by practicing karate, judo and wrestling.
